Kerala High Court Upholds Physiotherapists’ Independent Status
On 22 January 2026, the Hon’ble Kerala High Court affirmed that qualified Physiotherapists are recognised healthcare professionals under the NCAHP Act, 2021.
The Court held that Physiotherapists may practice independently within their professional scope and clarified that the prefix “Dr.” is not legally exclusive to medical practitioners.
